"After much prayer, I moved to Austin in 1979 with my new bride to attend law school at The University of Texas at Austin. A big change for a native New Yorker and a New England educated young man, but we believed God sent us to Austin. 36 years later you can see it pays off to listen and trust God. Over the years I've seen Austin change tremendously in size, demographics and otherwise, but I've seen first hand the power of civic engagement and community commitment for the common good. I've been immeasurably blessed to be a part of some of these great efforts and conversations to add to the vitality and experience of Austin for all. My wife and I are now fortunate to see our native bred, now grown, four children find their role in the community conversation, and it's such a blessing to see them impact Austin in their own ways."
