Managed by the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce, Discover Black Austin™ is an initiative designed to amplify the cultural vibrancy in Austin's Black community.

Founded in 1982, the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce (GABC) is a private, non-profit, membership driven organization comprised of over 400 business, civic organizations and passionate individuals. Our mission is to inspire, develop and promote Black economic success in the Greater Austin area.

GABC is currently housed in the African American Cultural & Heritage Facility along the historic East Austin Business District. The facility boasts an environmentally friendly atmosphere and is the site of the historic Dedrick-Hamilton House owned by one of the first freedmen in Travis County. The 760-square foot home serves as a resource for information about the African American Cultural Heritage District & the East Austin community.
